The first Relentless Energy Short Stories film, is by the Irish renowned photographer and bodyboarder Mickey Smith, and Allan Wilson from the Astray Collective as Director of Photography, and explores Smith’s world as a true waterman — both as an athlete and artist.

As Smith puts it: “Something that offers insight into what it takes to grind out a living as a water-based photographer in the surfing industry: a short experimental glimpse at a life lived in the shadow of obsessive photographic pursuits.”

This Short Story is called “The Dark Side of The Lens”.

I love this kind of illustration. It reminds me of books with beautiful botanical illustrations my grandfather would show me as a kid.

We all love underwater photography. I know I do. But we rarely get to see such an amazing undersea collection as the ones taken by the american National Geographic photographer Brian Skerry.
